My grandma used to feed us dinner on the patio by giving us plates of food through the kitchen window when I was a kid. It was her laid-back way of feeding us, and it was much easier than walking through the kitchen to the patio, but I’ll never forget how fantastic it was that she did it.
One of my favorite bistros in the charming city of Calistoga has an open window bar where I enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine. Now that summer has here, it appears like it’s time to open all of the windows and let the fresh air in, and while you’re at it, serve up a beverage and a snack!
These moveable windows, often known as servery windows, allow for interior to outdoor entertaining. A servery window is made comprised of a countertop slab and a folding accordion or upswing fuel strut window. The outside countertop is built-in with the inner countertop in some cases, and the outside countertop is a separate piece in others. How fantastic are they for summer dining and entertaining in all senses?
